Terry Spence

Terry Spence grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Applied Mathematics. His first guitar solo was in second grade (Mrs. Hall's class in Montrose, Pa.). Never straying too far from music, he began his professional career at IBM, Gathersburg, Md, writing code for a relatively new constellation of satellites known as 'GPS.' You may have heard of it.

Moving to Silicon Valley he continued his career as a S/W developer working on a variety of government contracts. 

"It was that or starve," remarks Spence. "Playing fingerstyle guitar doesn't pay very well, but there will be a need for programmers for years to come. I do what I have to so I can keep playing."

After earning his M.S. at Santa Clara, Ca, he and his wife, Sue, moved to Colorado Springs, CO where they still live today.
